フォトグラフ界のオスカー賞とも称される国際フォトコンテストInternational Photography Awards（略：IPA）が2019年度のリストを発表し、26分野に於いて22名の台湾人が入選したことが明らかとなった。
海軍陸戦訓練を撮影した作品で許明忠さんが、War / Conflict（戦争 / 戦闘）の分野で1st place（金賞に相当）を獲得、Buildings（建物）の分野では曾進發さんが台中国立歌劇院を撮影した作品「Enjoyable dream life」で1st placeを獲得した。今回入選した台湾人22名は、プロ・アマ含め1st placeが8点、2nd place（銀賞に相当）が7点、3rd place（銅賞に相当）が9点。
本コンテストはプロフェッショナルとアマチュアの2部門につき、それぞれ現代アート、スポーツ、報道などの13分野に於いて、1st place、2nd place、3rd placeの3つの評価レベルで審査され、今回は世界から95名の写真家や、画家、映画監督、学者などの専門家によって評価された。
